Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday and I have been reminded all day by the fact that I have not done a 'Thankful Thursday' post in a couple weeks. So, here goes...

We are thankful for/that:
~ The gorgeous weather that we've had lately and the amazing flowers that are blooming. This truly is a gorgeous time of year with the breath of new life everywhere. We never realized it, but it was the perfect time of year to get married :)
~ Having such good times with our friends lately. What gifts we have in them.
~ Finishing our taxes (VA isn't due till May 1) and getting lots of money back!
~ The time we've been able to spend with Julie while she's been here at UVa.
~ Friends from all over the country that we've been able to stay in close touch with despite our distance.
~ Getting rid of lots of stuff in our house so we will have an easier move.
~ Finding some new playgrounds and parks in the area to go play.
~ The Lord is growing us in trusting Him and we are learning more about his character every day.
~ We only have 2 more rent payments left. Woohoo!
~ That the terrible three's won't last forever. :)
~ That all this training of our children will eventually pay off!
~ Samuel is almost potty trained.
~ A violet of mine finally bloomed for the first time since I got it one year ago at my Blessingway for Joseph. (It was either from Julie or Marilyn. I know you two will be so excited I still have them, so I'm mainly sharing this for you both).
~ Joseph is really doing well communicating his needs which make it so much easier on all of us.
~ Our food co-op started a few weeks ago, and we are back in the swing of fresh produce and meat weekly!
~ Everyone in our family is completely healthy!

Wow, that was a mouthful, I'm sure there's lots more, but that will do for now... I wasn't even in a thankful mood when I started this, but boy does it change your perspective when you can think of at least a dozen things right off the top of your head to be thankful for.

What about you? What are you thankful for?

Fat Sam

No one believes me, but here's the proof that Samuel used to be fat, just like Joe is now, at one year old! Chubby bunnies!

Picasa Web Albums

We're gonna give them a try! Instead of blog posts that go halfway down the page with a million pictures, I'm going to try and just put an album of pictures with captions. We'll see how we like it. Let me know what you think.

He is Risen!

Jesus rose and conquered the grave. Hallelujah! Our God is so mighty to save.

We had a fabulous celebration of our risen KING this past weekend with family and friends. We pray you had a great celebration as well!

Enjoying a family hike.

Enjoying our time with cousin Ashley!

On friday, Andy and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. Our God is so good!

Making sure we all see the airplane overhead.

Thankful Thursday

~ The weather has been beautiful!
~ We had a wonderful weekend in Williamsburg (see previous post).
~ Our loan application has been sent and should be finalized tomorrow.
~ We locked in our loan rate too.
~ We found the missing fork and knife and pepper shaker to the boys kitchen set. Here I was searching through the trash this morning looking for it with Joseph standing next to me smiling as big as he could. He thought it was hilarious! I was convinced he threw them in the trash because it's his new favorite thing to do. Luckily, he had put them in the shoe basket by the front door. Yay! Simple, I know, but it drives me nuts to misplace things.
~We're having pizza night a night early, woohoo!

Too Much Fun?!

If you combine most of Samuel's favorite things, what do you get? Last weekend!

Among the things he loves: our friends Jessica and Saley, Aunt Julie and Mike, Grandma and Grandpa Bubb, Papa Bear, Oma, the Fife and Drum Corps, woodworking, Beau the bird, Tigger the cat, blueberry pie, a new Curious George coloring book and church. Combine all of those things into one weekend and the kid was overwhelmed (in a good way of course). It was jammed packed, but oh so fun!

The birdhouse he made with Papa Bear.

Waiting to dig in to dinner. Notice Samuel's fife and drum cup!

Finally a picture of Oma, Papa Bear and the boys!!!

The Fife and Drum Corps

Joseph is thrilled!

Following the band!

Cheesing it up outside.

This is what Andy looked like for most of the weekend. He was busy finalizing the loan application for our mortgage. No fun! He did a fabulous job though and now it's all done!

Here's Grandpa and Grandma Bubb who visited on their way home from Texas. It was such a great treat to see them.

And just a cute picture of Joe I had to put in the for grandmoms. He loves this new table.

Thankful Thursday

Things that we are thankful for this week:

We are, well mostly Amy is, thankful for Retail Relay where we can order all of our favorite foods all over the area and go and pick it all up in one location. We placed our first order this morning and can go and pick it up this evening. I don't think I am every going to step foot in a grocery store again :) Check out things like this in your area, they are becoming so popular. There is no charge for picking it up either. It's an awesome deal. I can imagine I will end up saving because I won't be tempted to buy other stuff while in the store. moving on...

Joseph is thankful for new teeth and the ability to keep up with Samuel walking now. He didn't waste anytime transitioning to walking. It seemed to have happened overnight. We were not prepared. He's growing WAY too fast.

We are thankful for times to bond in the bathroom. We spent a lot of our days in there now.

We are very thankful for extra sets of sheets.

We are thankful for times with Aunt Juju and Miiiiike.

We are thankful for awesome deals on kids stuff off of Craigslist. The table and white chair were for $10! The brown chair was mine when I was little. I'm going to repaint them all. Not sure what colors yet. We also got a new pack-n-play too.

We are thankful for new food for our kitchen set from Nana. And creative kids that fix yummy meals. Samuel brought all of this furniture into the living room because that's where to kitchen set is. Duh?! Of course you can't eat dinner in the playroom. Silly mommy! Either I'm going to have to bring the kitchen set into the play room or get used to the table being in the living all the time because now those two items are one. They cannot be separated, I've quickly learned.

Joe's ready to eat, surprise surprise :)

We are thankful for fun gifts in the mail from Gigi!

We're so thankful for boys that have a heart for the Word of God!!! Here "they" are reciting Psalm 8.
