Offline

Our move is going well. We moved all the big stuff on Saturday and are now bringing over the rest of the small stuff. I'll be cleaning the house today and tomorrow and then we'll finally be able to focus on our new place exclusively.

We don't have internet set up at our new home and are not quite sure what we're going to do about it in general, so for now, we will be offline until further notice.

But of course, will be back on the 4th to share who our fun giveaway winner is!

Thanks to all of you who have helped and prayed for us during this move. Our friends and family have been such a blessing through this crazy, but fun time!

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday already?!?! Oh no! That means we move in TWO DAYS!!! AHHH!!! :)

~ I am thankful that it IS Thursday and that this can only go on for so long. All of our stuff being in one house will make life so much easier.
~ I am thankful that our boys absolutely LOVE the new house. They literally cry every time we leave. We've gotta work on that, but for now, I love it because it shows how much they love it.
~ I am thankful for Andy and for all of the incredibly long hours he is putting into the house for our family. He is such a hard worker. I love being his wife.
~ We are all thankful we got to spend Gigi's birthday with her this past weekend. What an awesome treat to have us all together for her special day, and then again for Father's Day too.
~ We are thankful that Aunt Julie got a GREAT job in DC starting next week. She's a big business woman now and is moving on in life, but we are thrilled she won't be too far away.
~ We are all thankful we are going blueberry picking after the boys wake up from their naps. I went last Saturday and got 8 pints and I just have to bring the boys so they can get the experience. Should be exciting. Oh, packing you say??? Yeah, that can wait :)
~ Andy and I both very thankful for the promises of Romans 5:3-5 during these trying times.
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

GIVE-A-WAY!!!

We aren't high rollers around here, but we thought with all we've been blessed with lately, we are going to have a give-a-way just for fun!!!

The trivia question is... What are the weights of our boys???

Details:

Whoever guesses the closest will win.... a $20 gift card to Amazon! If anyone guesses the same and you win, you'll split the prize.

The contest starts now and ends Saturday, July 4st at midnight EST. Make sure you leave some contact info so we can contact you if you win.

And if you haven't already, please let us know on the sidebar if you are family, a friend, or a random blogging person. (Just cause we're curious who reads).

Creative Mama Bird

I've been reminded that I haven't shared a fun story with our blogging friends...

Andy found a stick in the bathroom while he was in there with the boys and went to throw it outside. We didn't think much of it, because, DUH, we have two boys that are obsessed with sticks and anything of the sort, but it was too small of a stick for them to be interested in it, so I started getting curious... there was just one thing I knew that would love that stick, a bird!

We keep our bathroom window open on hot days and it doesn't have a screen... do you see where I'm going with this?

A bird had been flying into our bathroom all day and making a nest in the top of our towels on the rack. As Andy was in there looking at it, the bird flew right into the bathroom, saw everyone and flew right out.

I shut the window and the next morning I opened it back up and within two minutes the bird was back. Poor thing had spent so long making that nest, she was not going to just forget about it.

Not knowing really what to do since I knew they wouldn't touch it if we handled it, I just dropped it out our window onto the ground while holding it in two towels.

I love having Samuel tell this story to people since they think he's not telling the truth, but then I say, "no, really, he's not lying. There really was a nest in our bathroom!"

What a creative mama. She thought she found such a safe and quiet place to lay her eggs. Too bad our house is neither of those things.

And yes, I'm definitely blogging when I should be packing.

New Background Photo

Who's going to be putting this as their new background photo?
I know of a few people :)

I didn't even stage this one, making it all the more adorable.

Temper Tantrum Elbow

A couple weekends ago, I was walking with Joseph somewhere he wasn't interested in going and he dropped to the ground in protest while I was holding his hand. He immediately starting crying and refused to use his arm. Every time we tried to move it he would scream. With a little research we found out that he had Nursemaid Elbow, which is also more appropriately called Temper Tantrum Elbow.

Click HERE to read more about Nursemaid Elbow. It's good to know the facts.

We were out of town but heading back home that night so we called our Pediatrician and he said he would stop over in the morning if it hadn't popped back into place on its own. So that afternoon, night and the next morning he still wasn't using his arm. I called our doctor and he was going to come over at 10am. 9:38ish rolled around and Joseph fell on his elbow and popped it right back into place. It was awesome. We bypassed a large doctors bill and he was immediately healed. Now we get a lot of laughs out of Joe having temper tantrum elbow!

Here's a video while Joseph was hurt, he was sitting still in my lap on the hammock and babbling away. Two things he rarely does.

A Star Is Born

This past weekend the boys got a tee ball set. Samuel has been playing non stop. He's gotten so good, he's already playing without the tee. This kid has got some talent. He's going to be a baseball star, just like daddy. Check out his skills!

Thankful Thursday

~ We are slowing (yet surely) moving along on redoing the hardwood floors in our new house! Andy is doing a fantastic job and has been such a hard worker on them. They are going to look so great when they are done.
~ Andy got some help from a friend to work on the floors. What a blessing.
~ We spent part of Saturday over at the house and brought Gamba and the kids just played out in the yard while I unpacked some stuff in the kitchen. It was awesome to have them outside but just feet from me. Our new house is just perfect for us.
~ Our community groups are back on for the summer and this week was women's week. The girls came over to our house and we had such a great time together. Summer is such a hard time to maintain friendships, but we are so thankful for our group of friends!
~ The week is almost over and we're headed to MD for a party for Julie tomorrow!
~ I have a kickin' new skirt that I MADE (oh yes) for the party!
~ Gamba is going to be well taken care of by our sweet neighbor downstairs this weekend while we're gone and we don't have to kennel him!
~ The promise of Isaiah 64:5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways.
~ We have some friends who just found out they passed court for their adoption of two precious angels from Ethiopia and they can travel in July to go and get them. It was truly a miracle how it all worked out.
~ Two precious babies have been born in our church in the past 2 weeks. Two gorgeous little girls that I cannot wait to kiss all over.
~ We are so thankful for the awesome parks in Charlottesville to enjoy. We've been switching up our routine up a little and trying some different parks and it's been a blast. The summer is looking so promising!

Thankful Thursday

Besides closing on our house this week, we have lots of other things to be thankful for:

~I had an excellent time in DC with my cousin and her friends celebrating her upcoming wedding!
~I also had a wonderful time celebrating the upcoming arrival of two precious children from Ethiopia with a friend from church.
~We are so thankful for these precious boys and their love for each other.
~We are thankful for all of our friends and family that are stepping in and helping us with our moving logistics.
~We didn't owe anything at the closing of our house, we're even getting $1500 BACK!
~My parents celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this week!
~The waterpark is open down the street!!!
~Andy and I are so thankful for a quiet dinner we were able to spend together while the kids were still napping. It was a miracle. He got home, dinner was ready and the boys were still sleeping, so we sat down and ate s-l-o-w-l-y and had a wonderful QUIET time together.
~I've got some great new decorating ideas for the house that are oh so cheap!
~We're off to pick up our weekly produce and our groceries.. yummy!

Pictures are taking too long to upload and I'm in a rush so I'll post them hopefully tomorrow.

We're Home 'Owners'

Today's the day!

We closed on our house this morning. Everything went smoothly and we are in possession of the keys! Now the real fun begins. We're sanding and staining the floors upstairs and then we'll start moving after that is all done.. I guess that means I've gotta START packing.

Here we are at our lawyers office signing all the paperwork.

Woohoo!!!
