We Have Boys

The reason why I know this is because these are the top 10 words
most frequently heard around our home:

1. Poop
2. Fart
3. Bottom
4. Pants
5. Diaper
6. Penis
7. Underwear
8. Eww
9. Gross
10. Yuck

Each day I'm getting more and more excited at the fact that we're having a girl :)

Thankful Thursday

Never, in all of my blogging history have I done as few posts in one month than this month. Hopefully I can catch up now that life is slowing down a 'bit'.

First things first though, Thankful Thursday!

(I'm going to go back more than just this past week since it's been so long that we've done one)
~ Nana's shoulder surgery went well and that she is healing well.
~ SPRING!
~ The two new babies we know that were born over the last few days.
~ Annabelle is in her 3rd trimester and is doing great.
~ Lots of tasks around the house are getting done in preperation for her arrival.
~ Gigi is coming to visit on Monday to help out with some of those tasks :)
~ We are all feeling better.
~ My job at church (admin assistant) and all the things God is teaching me in it.
~ Pay day is coming soon!
~ The boys are such good friends.
~ The fact that I won't be pregnant forever. One day soon we'll get to be holding our sweet girl in our arms.

Consignment Sales

Here in Charlottesville there are two big consignment sales that both happen twice a year, once in the spring for spring/summer clothes and once in the fall for fall/winter clothes. They are usually the same week or a week a part. My mom normally plans her trips around these sales because it is practically the only time we get things for the kids. Anything you need for kids, they have!

My philosophy on kids things... buy them as nice as you can for as cheap as you can. These consignment sales allow me to do just that.

Nana put a good chunk of money towards our trip this year even though she couldn't come, and Annabelle was the proud recipient of most of that money! So, thanks to Nana, Annabelle has her complete 0-6 month wardrobe. What a huge blessing!

Check out some of my favorites:

The boys really didn't need anything, but I did end up buying some fun surprises to be given on special occasions:

Now, all we need for her is a car seat, a crib mattress, baby book... and the minor things like a family vehicle to put her in!

But the important things, like shoes and clothes are taken care of :) And it feels so good! She is so personified to me now. Seeing all of her clothes that she'll be wearing makes her all the more real to me. I simply cannot believe she is on her way in less than 90 days!

Annabelle's Ultrasound

Just as we had prayed, our sweet Annabelle is perfectly healthy, just a little on the big side. She is in the 75th percentile all around. The doctor estimated that if she made it to 40 weeks she would be about 8 1/2 pounds. Which is bigger than Samuel was (7 lbs. 1 oz) and even bigger than Joseph was too (7 lbs 15.6 oz) but hopefully not too big for me to birth.

And because I simply am not really convinced we are having a girl, I made them check yet again :) Yup, sure enough!

The doctor even printed us out a 3D one. Isn't she just beautiful?!?

Thank you, Lord for answering our prayers and knitting this little one so perfectly in my womb! She is so fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, we know that full well.

90th Percentile?!?

Joseph had his two year check up. In 2 years he has gone from being well below the 5th percentile to the 5th, the 15th, the 25th, the 50th, the 75th and now he is in the 90th percentile for his head circumference, his weight and his height for his age.

WHAT?!?

Our child? Are you serious?

Where does this kid come from?!?

It just makes us laugh to think that when you double a kid's height at age 2, you most likely get their full height as an adult. That would measure out to making Joseph be 5'11" when he's full grown!

I'm 5'1" and Andy is 5'5 3/4"

God is so creative, isn't he?

When Joseph was less than a year old our doctor was literally encouraging us to add olive oil to his food because he was worried he was a little too underweight. He's in utter disbelief when he sees Joseph now. Boy, what a year can do!

And as it looks, Annabelle is getting a head start on Joseph. She's been measuring 2 1/2 weeks larger than normal. We have an ultrasound on the 15th to see what's going on in there. If you think of it, please pray that there are no complications with her and that she is just bigger than normal (but not too big).

Samuel was 7lbs at birth, Joseph was 8lbs. I can't go much bigger. But it sure looks like Annabelle is going to test that out.

Is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life having a girl?

(Hopefully) less than 100 days till she comes. We are at exactly 26 weeks completed today. Which means 98 more days till her 'due date'. How exciting!!!

Joseph Turns 2

On February 27th, our 'little' boy turned the big 2! We had such a great weekend celebrating with friends and family.

Where as most parents sit and wonder where the times has gone and they cannot imagine their baby being 2, we on the other hand feel like Joseph has been 2 for months. He is just as big as his older brother and has been doing a lot of two year old 'things' for quite some time.

Even Joseph has yet to admit he's two. He is three. Just ask him. We have yet to have him admit that he is two. How could he be? He can do all the same things Samuel can and is just as big. Samuel is three, so of course, Joseph is three too :)

Showing off his new oven mitts and apron:

Samuel was such a good brother the whole day. He was so excited for Joseph!

Playing with their new dollhouse!

Determined to keep his oven mitts on as he played with his dollhouse!

So excited for his 'muffies'

Too precious.

Blowing out his candle.
