Annabelle calls all bugs ladybugs, so the theme seemed quite fitting.

Annabelle's Ladybug Party
The day after Annabelle's birthday, we celebrated this precious girl with a party at Walnut Creek Park. Annabelle was surrounded by her parents, her brothers, her aunt, all 6 of her grandparents and friends. It was a very special day.

Super Readers
There's is nothing like watching your children accomplish a task they have been working so hard at! The boys both read their first book. We're on lesson 20 in our reading book and I thought we should dive into their Bob Books to see how they'd do. They flew threw the first one and Samuel went on to read the second as well. I highly recommend these Bob Books! The boys love them.

That's A Lot of Playing With Stuffed Animals
This particular day the boys were just having such a great time playing I decided not to separate them for rest time. Instead I just decided to let them play in their room together until it seemed like they needed some alone time, ie, an argument broke out or someone started crying out of exhaustion.
Hour after hour passed with just squeals of happiness with no fighting, whining or bickering, so I just kept letting them play. THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER I finally decide, enough is enough, we've got to move on with our day! I enter their room anticipating to see a complete disaster and find them playing with their stuffed animals with no other toys out. They played with their stuffed animals for the entire time!
They normally get along very well, but I was in shock as to how such a long time playing alone went. I am so thankful they have the relationship that they do. They are truly best friends who cherish the company of the other. I pray years down the road they will look back on this picture and smile, knowing they have had countless other times like this.

Summertime is Reading Time
Summer is most certainly learning time in our family! We will be schooling year round and this summer our big focus will be on reading. The boys have recently found their love for reading and I'm going to try to fan that flame through the hot and humid summer months. It has been such a joy to see their little brains continue to aquire this difficult skill. An amazing door is opened when children learn to read. The world, especially, the Living Word of God, literally comes alive right through their fingertips...and I get to watch it all unfold! I'm quite excited.
