Play Hard, Work Hard

My sweet kiddos cannot sit still to learn well if they have not had the chance to "get all their sillies out" as they call it. So, schooling at the park works really well for us. We play hard first, and then they are all calmed down and relaxed to learn.

Samuel has mastered the art of swinging and is in love. It seemed to take awhile, but now he's got it down. Look at that proud smile.

Belle is still hamming it up for the camera every chance she gets.

And, Joe, well here he is in all his glory! Silly faces win out 98% of the time. I'm okay with that. He's still adorable no matter what scary shape he tries to contort his face in.

One serious shot for a silly shot. I just adore this picture of them. Such best friends!

We've been doing a weather unit, and are studying clouds. These beautiful cirrus clouds were in the sky and noted that it means rain is on it's way. Sure enough, it rained the next day. I had no idea! I just love learning along side of my kiddos.

Sitting there by the water, watching the birds fly south, noting all the colors on the trees and overall just marveling at the glory of creation, I was reminded of Psalm 19. Particularly the first verse, but the rest is just too good to not include.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
    It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.
The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
    and all of them are righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.
14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
