Just For Samuel K!

Samuel,

Hi my sugar plum! Mommy told me that you came on our blog to see a picture of Gamba and couldn't find one. So, here is a picture of you best doggie friend!

Doesn't he look so silly?!?

Samuel E. just loves his new puzzles from you. He would like you to come over very soon so you all can have School Bus School together. School Bus School is just not the same without you. Ask mommy if you can come over real soon so we can play!

Love you buddy,
Your Miss Amy

First Bath

I realize that this is beyond shocking to most, but we just gave Annabelle her first full bath the other day. She's had several partial baths in the sink, but we had yet to go all out and put her in the bath tub. Surprisingly enough, she loved it!

So much so, that when she got out and was being dried off, she pooped. She knew she'd get to go right back in if she did.

Smart girl.

Life Is Tough

It's not easy being this cute.

Samuel Turns 4

We had a great day on Saturday celebrating Samuel.

We are so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with this incredible boy. He is such a gift!

And here's a picture of Joseph from the party that I just couldn't leave out.

P.S. Baby Kangaroo had a great birthday too! He turned one :)

First Smiles

Annabelle has been starting to smile and it just melts our hearts. She has only smiled truly at Joseph. It's adorable. He feels very special. We have yet to capture a great picture, but this first one can hold you over until we get a better one.

And here she is just looking too precious in this picture to not share.

Becca's Quilt

Here's another quilt that's finished for Uganda!

I am so thrilled to add this to the collection. Look how gorgeous it is.

Thank you to all of you for your incredible support of this project. I am so encouraged by all of you to stick with it because I know I have the support of so many. It would have been so easy to quit and to write this off, but with your help, we'll be sending these off in no time!

Becca is my cousin's wife and is the mother of 4 little boys! What an inspiration she is to be willing to take the time to do this. Thanks so much Becca!

Be sure to check out her blog. It's a must read.

No More Curls

It's been a tough week for mommy. Samuel turned 4 and Joseph no longer has his curls. They are growing up way too fast for my liking!

I was cutting Samuel's hair and Joseph kept asking for me to cut his. I trimmed his bangs a week or so ago, but I needed to do it again. His curls in the back were getting so long that they were starting to get tangles. When he got sweaty it was just a mess. And he gets sweaty a lot. Especially since we somehow now live on the equator!

So, I trimmed his bangs again and then trimmed the back of his hair just on the bottom to get it off his neck, well he looked ridiculous. So, I trimmed up the entire back just a little so as to not make it look like a mullet. Well, then it just looked worse. It was in between the curly stage and the normal boy hair cut stage. I was left with no option. I just had to go for it.

I was not ready for such a change! But, there's no going back. It's been several days and I'm still not used to it. I miss my Joe Joe. This once little boy is now a big kid!

Good thing he's no longer my baby :)

Annabelle's Dedication

The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3

Children are a gift from God; they are His reward. Psalm 127:3

I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted me what I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27

Our children too shall serve Him, for they shall hear from us about the wonders of the Lord; generations yet unborn shall hear of all the miracles He did for us. Psalm 22:30-31

Our prayer for our sweet Annabelle is that she would Trust in the LORD with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding; but that in all her ways she would acknowledge him, and he promises that He will make her paths straight.

That she would not lay up for herself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for herself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where her treasure is, there her heart will be also.

Oh what a great responsibility we've been given to train these children up to serve Him. Not in our strength, but HIS!

Why I Love Him

PigB,

I'm excited about our date too. Let's have a treat and watch the India movie. Or if you want to do something else that will be fine too (though I'm hoping the treat idea won't really be up for discussion). I'll pick you up at your place at 8:20!

AJE - 2 Weeks

I've tried it before and have been somewhat successful, so I will attempt to do it again. I'm going to take a picture of Annabelle each week on her week birthday. I've done it different with each kid, but with Annabelle I am going to take some photos of her on a different piece of fabric each week. Since I love fabric so much and have so many different kinds it will make a great colorful album once they are all put together. I will also have her wearing only her bloomers so we can measure how much she's growing.

Her first week was with her bound-to-be favorite blanket and this week was on a quilt that I bought with the top already pieced together and I just added some border to it and finished it off.

More Firsts

First day with just mommy and the kids.

It went very well.

First July 4th

'Learning' how to make the dough for her first Friday night pizza night.

Life is back to normal around here and it feels so good. She is 2 weeks today and I feel awesome. I am amazed at how quickly I recovered this time around. Each time is getting significantly quicker than the last. The Lord is so gracious, knowing exactly what I can handle and what I can't.

*Remind me of that when I'm crying to you over the phone about how I just can't (fill in the blank).

First Hike

Saturday we went our first family hike with Annabelle to Ragged Mountain Natural Area. We had a nice hike up the mountain and then rewarded ourselves with some berries on the way back. Annabelle slept the entire time on daddy. It felt great to get back outside as a family and enjoying God's creation.
